Wrinkles and facial lines? Let us help you regain your natural radiance and beauty
As we get older, our skin loses moisture and we see lines and wrinkles develop, and overall ageing of the face. However, here at Dental Care Partnership, we can enhance your natural beauty with friendly, tailored advice and treatments in non-surgical and surgical facial rejuvenation to keep your skin and smile looking radiant.
Wrinkle relaxing treatments (botulinum toxin)
Wrinkle relaxing treatments involve injection of botulinum toxin into target muscles of the face to temporarily help them to relax. They block the messages being sent from the nerves to the muscles, thereby preventing the muscles from contracting, this in turn softens facial expressions and can reverse the signs of ageing or prevent further lines and wrinkles from developing. This is a prescription only treatment and you will need a full consultation prior to this.
It’s most often used to help soften lines in the frown area, forehead and crow’s feet (each being one area). It can also be used successfully to reduce ‘gummy’ smiles by lowering the upper lip a fraction, and also dimpled chins and turned down corners of the mouth.
Results can be seen as quickly as 2-3 days post injection, however for the full effects it may take a while longer and it is best to wait 10-14 days. The speed of action will be influenced by the strength and response of your muscles. It is sometimes necessary to ‘top-up’ after the initial treatment depending on the strength of the muscle.
Skin rejuvenation treatments such as Restylane Skinboosters ™ or Teoxane Redensity I ™ are becoming increasingly popular to improve the skin’s condition.
The treatment involves a series of small injections across the face or in target problem areas to help improve the texture, hydration and luminosity of the skin. It is a fantastic treatment for all skin types whether young or old, giving a glow and a boost, but in particular it works well for acne scarring, fine lines and crepey skin.
The treatment consists of 2-3 sessions, each 1 month apart. These products can also be used on the neck and decolletage as well as the backs of the hands.
Dermal fillers essentially consist of hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a naturally occurring collagen found in the body. Our stores of this compound deplete as we age and therefore skin becomes less supple and can wrinkle easily. As it is a naturally occurring compound within the body it is safe to use and allergic reactions are very rare.
Dermal fillers come in a variety of thicknesses so they can be targeted to specific areas of the face and be tailored to the individual. For example, deep nasolabial lines (nose to mouth) may need a thick particle filler as this will need to be injected deeper into the layers of the dermis (skin), but for fine lines around the mouth or eyes, a very fine particle filler would be best as this is injected more superficially.
Common areas that can be treated with dermal fillers are:
Nose to mouth lines
Corners of the mouth
Cheeks and jaw lines
Lips (to contour and volume)
